What this recall covers

The defect
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 trucks manufactured April 15, 2015, to December 15, 2015, and equipped with rear air suspension. In the affected vehicles, the rear brake hoses may contact and chafe on the rear axle housing while driving.
The risk
A chafed rear brake line may result in an air leak, reducing the rear braking ability and increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install revised rear brake air chambers and replace any damaged rear air brake lines, free of charge. The recall began on February 9, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15S38.

Is my car affected?

Being on this list means your year, make and model fall inside campaign 15V858000. It does not mean your individual car does: a campaign covers a range of VINs built in a specific window, and cars either side of that window are untouched.

Check the 17-character VIN from the driver-side dashboard or door jamb against NHTSA's lookup. If it is covered, the dealer must do the work free of charge, regardless of the car's age or mileage.
